These floors look great! Who is your hardwood supplier in Dallas? I wholesale a variety of wood and Dura Seal stain products in the DFW area and would love to discuss an opportunity to work together. Give me a call some time @ 972-653-0220

I really like the arch window, ceiling wood detail and the detailed cast iron window!
Wood Ceilings (Techos de Madera)Exposed and rustic trusses, beams and joists all speak Spanish in a home. Wood ceilings can be stained naturally or with color. Sometimes beams can even feature elaborate hand-painted designs.

What kind of wood is that door made of?
Are the rails iron or painted wood?
looking for a way to get exterior railing with pickets that look like "turned" wood. mlftweber@aol.com
They are a TUSCAN SQUARE HAMMERED not sure on the exact piece name but they are from that type as I too liked them and I know cheapstairparts.com has them.
Turned posts on balusters - these are probably metal, but we can find something like in wood for a painted finish
The archway, the contrast of white walls and dark wood and the door
Or maybe not. Maybe the floor boards can be the same as the door even in rooms with another color of hard wood.

What color are these walls and what type of finish?
up a wall was anything but easy a century ago. Once you framed a wall or ceiling out of wood and were ready to close it in with a finished surface ready for paint or paper, you'd first nail on small strips of wood called laths, then put on several different layers of plaster. The work was time consuming
This is a pic that shows rounded plaster corners and arches without wood trim. With great trim at the bottom of the walls and around doors, this works well.
Creamy white walls with dark wood floors
protect them from damage. Then joint compound is spread over the bead and sanded smooth. In many traditional plaster applications, a rounded piece of wood trim was placed at the corners and then plastered over, creating a round corner. To mimic this look with drywall, look for a bullnose corner bead.
