What would you call the thin windows that run just under the ceiling like that? It's big time 1950s, considering something like that in my house...

Thank you for the prompt response. Are all these windows also trimmed in VG Doug fir? We are building a new modern style house in saratoga- would you be able to share via email how to treat the fir to prevent the darkening to orange. I will pass on the info to our builder. Thanks a lot.
