Ragley Hall Residence Living Room
the other room, I have a fireplace that is in my living room on one side and the other is an addition where the fireplace used to be the outside of the house and is now my dining room I would like to know is it possible to open it up?
What are the dimensions of this room?
in the centre of the room acting as a divider.

The great room: having main level all open
Nice timber frame simple living room
I like the furniture perhaps for the sun room
ideas and designs of that time will never fade away. But the trend of creating a period-piece room will. We will always have Danish modern and Nelson lights, but I don't think there will be quite so many rooms that look like Mad Men sets in 20 years.

A one-room modern structure perched on a steep lot turns what would have been virtually unusable space into a welcome refuge.

The view and lighting are given the credit that they deserve. At the same time the furniture doesn't completely fade into the background... This room says Peace
I think this is the same room as shown in the other photo, just from a different angle. I like how the beams continue outside, which I'm assuming helps create an indoor / outdoor living space or feel. And if we lived in a place with snow then yes I'd want a fireplace. But
The living room has excellent sight lines to the exterior except for the intentional distraction of a beautiful vintage bubble chandelier.
MaterialsThis image makes for a nice transition to a discussion of materials and how they compose space. The room is largely accomplished through its use of materials; the exposed wood structure and ceiling create an expectation of the space that is confirmed with

what room is on the other side of the kitchen?
image is the mudroom entrance for this part of the house. Also barely visible is a built-in cafe type booth in the kitchen. The room opposite the bookshelves is the living room.
book case divider between kitchen and family room
ceiling panels cabin look (not good)
This wall of books is freestanding, acting as a divider between the kitchen and living room. not sure I love this for kitchen but in my room and defining the guest space?
2 sided bookshelves, serves as a room divider
Idea would be bookcases on the living room side of the kitchen wall
Open wall between kitchen and family room for island with sink!
could position this between kitchen and living room, but just do in center of the space...not from end

Valley Lane house
agree!!find another solution to the colorlessness of your room, get furniture or soft furnishing in color if that is what you would like!!!
Oh please, don't paint that stone! Sell your home and move if it troubles you! That is a beautiful room and the stone fits it....
room barrier and can enjoy on both sides ;)
Wood w bright colors, French doors next to dining room
fireplace between kitchen and living room
living room, 2 sided fireplace, dining area, kitchen
gas fire through to both rooms
Fireplace which devides the living and dining
Double sided fireplace viewed from kitchen and living room
panoramic hearth warms from every angle in the room while adding a subtle room division.
The Valley Lane home, also designed by architect Mark Gerwing, is a long open space with a large fireplace dividing the kitchen and dining areas from the living room. What a great place to come home to and light

I love this room! Gorgeous. Wondering where they sourced the windows and doors from? Thanks so much

Hi goeganreno, you could ask the home owner Rebekah. http://www.houzz.com/pro/onesmallroom/one-small-room-osr-interiors-building-design
Hi Alison it is a Brita rug from One Small Room
monochrome rugs. Exposed brick work. Open cabinate/shelf storage. Large analogue clock...
new open living space has three zones defined by the layout of the furniture, the exposed ceiling beams and the jarrah inserts in the concrete floor. Rebekah and Timothy can see the kids play in the yard from the kitchen, can fit at least two families around the long dining table and have room to move
