i think this picture is the best explanation for pattern. this picture has circular patterns on the wall which repeat design and color. the chairs also represent a pattern. the pattern makes it pop out so it is more visual to the person who is looking.
Pattern; Something that repeats, may be a picture, design or colour. The wallpaper displays the use of patterns because the circles show a repeating image that makes a pattern.
Pattern uses the art elements in planned or random
Interesting pairing of color & pattern! Definitely invites fun!
I like this kind of pattern with the layered colors, it does not have to be as busy.
I like the wall paper pattern.
Pattern- This space represents pattern by repetition of the same shape or design in the chairs and the wallpaper in the background
A sliding patterned glass panel separates the master bedroom from the hallway. Finne drew the pattern freehand with a pen, then digitized it and had it transfered to a film for the glass. The pattern is thickest
love the wood + patterning that can go well with the New Mexico feel

Don't be afraid to mix patterns, textures and colors. I love this room, a visual masterpiece with all of the different elements. This really stimulates my eyes. Tip: A little bit of zebra pattern will awaken even the most sleepy eyes.
PATTERN: the picture shows more about the repeated things and patterns keep this room both fun and fabulous, they are in good quality and the pillows made the room to look great, too .

Also, carry the color you choose throughout the room so that the sofa doesn't stick out.Two great examples of carrying color throughout are the ikat pillows in the previous photo, which have shots of the same teal as the sofa, and the yellow touches in the art above Jan Skacelik's yellow sofa in

The blue accent chairs and the cushion patterns
Love the semi circle design of the artwork over the sofa and the boldly patterned rug that fills the space.

If you don't want to be so literal, try a more subtle pattern in shades of green and ivory. Can't you just picture a birch forest in spring?
