I am remodeling a MCM home and like the lighting solution in this image. I would like to do the same, but do not know where to find these fixtures. thank you.
This is a custom sink that I designed and had fabricated locally.
kitchen was thoughtfully designed with Universal Design features which are not obvious, but presented in this beautiful, modern setting. As a CAPS and Vaastu Designer in Washington DC, I hope in less than 5 years that everyone will be asking for UD to be incorporated into every home for safety, comfort,

The cabinets are actually a white oak veneer on MDF. All wood in the home is stained this color.
Midcentury kitchens were intended to represent the wave of the future. Full of showy, shiny new appliances, bright colors and space-age surfaces, they're designed to look streamlined and cutting edge — at least for their time. Simplicity rules: slab cabinet doors, plain countertop edges, no-fuss materials.
windows between interior rooms brings more light into a space that may be cut off from the sun.

This looks like the interior of a boat/yacht
love the truly vintage feel to this... almost seems like an old cottage on the river... like a summer home.

whose pendants are these? (Your home is my favorite featured in 2012!)
about the cabinets at our Lake Forest project. The cabinets are cherry, with a custom CNC- milled textural pattern that I designed. There was quite a long process developing the design and making prototypes. The cabinets are not currently commercially available. --Nils Finne, AIA
Hi, I have attached a detail photo of the brackets supporting the cast-glass eating counter. The brackets were custom-designed and fabricated by a Seattle shop. Unfortunately, they are not for general sale.
work! The pendant lights above the kitchen island are Kane pendants by Bruck Lighting. They are hung from a custom curving steel light bar that I designed. --Nils Finne, AIA

Are there any window coverings? Internal blinds? If not, why not? Our new home has very similar window design but backs to another lot so am leery about doing without blinds, curtains, etc.
Sunlight abounds in this open-concept, updated ranch. The interior is minimalist and modern. Skylights have been added that illuminate the neutral and organic style of the main living area.

the desk in the kitchen though. Again one of those aspects that I never really got and it just seems like wasted space to me. (I also work from home in a home office, so I'd be putting that office stuff in the office).
I like most of the design except the easy changes: the chairs and the colors. The layout is wonderful.

elements of the sun and sky reflected in the pieces. Chell says that it was important for her clients to bring elements of color and light into their home. Simple pendant lights hang over the kitchen island so that the backsplash would take center stage. Kitchen Islands: Pendant Lights Done Right
