You are correct it does not have a chimney. Isokern makes a vent free see thru fireplace-we added glass to the interior. Of course this is a gas fireplace not intended to burn wood.

We wanted to keep all the tile uniform throughout the house and courtyard, so we just sloped the whole thing toward the glass wall. There are spaces under the glass panels and the door as well for the water to drain out. Of course some ends up in the planters as well to water the plants.
