Edging made of plants
A little color goes a long way. Our brains respond more quickly to red than any other color, so even a small accent can energize a setting, such as the single red butterfly chair on this small covered veranda.

Hi angryredhead thanks so much for giving the names of the plants.....i really appreciate it.
From what I can see, they look to be Euphorbia rigida (Gopher Plant), Senecio vitalis (Blue Chalk Fingers), Anigozanthos flavidus (Kangaroo Paw), Agave attenuata (Fox Tail Agave), and some sort of ornamental
ornamental grass. The blooming Euphorbia rigida (Gopher Plant) is what makes the biggest statement.

Dracaena marginata works especially well in a modern setting. Upright leaves indicate this plant recently came from
Madagascar dragon trees look best potted as a clump of three plants of different heights. Here a small pot was filled with what appears to be seven stalks, with fantastic results, so don't be afraid to go overboard. When your dragon tree has reached a height that you don't want to exceed, repot every
also control the height by simply cutting off the top. Two new stems will grow from the cut area within a few weeks, and you can produce a small new plant from your cutting.

in selecting materials you absolutely love. So, while your real estate agent or well-meaning friends and family might tell you to step away from the red tile backsplash, I say if you love it and plan to stay in your house for a while, go for it. But let it be the star of your kitchen by selecting supporting

What kind of plants are those?
I also live in the Bay Area and I love the idea of modern floor vase w the tall straight plants for height. Looks very clean. Are they easy to maintain?
Equisetum hyemale or horsetail are early to grow in containers but they need regular to ample water and do best in full sun. The plant will fill the entire container within 1-2years.
i love the raised and colored cement strip as well as the plants...in pots...the same sectional plants I had growing up (they come apart in sections)
I like the plants next to the windows.
long 5' wide deck, rectangular planters next to house, simulated planting wall next to horsetail
thick wall and a cut out on the back of fireplace for planting.
