share how you achieved this door frame detail?
Beautiful detail well executed. I assume this was new construction? Wondering if the same detail could be successfully achieved in a renovation if existing drywall at a door frame was cut back to a stud ... a new door frame was installed (because one wanted
wanted taller doors) ... a new piece of drywall was inserted up to the new door frame ... and the doorway was finished using a similar construction method as yours?
so the transition shows and make it flush to baseboard and door frame. Not cheap for sure, but looks awesome.
That bed frame is incredible. Wow! From 1956 and yet totally hip now.

wall color+white window frames+white tiles+wooden accent (would oak works as well insead of walnut for a softer look?)

dining room (background in photo). Fir wall panels and wood and camel tones warm up the white rooms. New double-pane glass windows, recycled denim insulation and radiant heat greatly improved the comfort of the house.
Sleek and modern. Wood accent walls can look sleek and modern, not rustic at all
great choice for a modern accent wall, especially applied vertically. Notice the modern neutral palette of solids and textures. No need for art; the wood accent wall is the star.

What color and type of wood is it?
I don't have a question just a statement: Best designed fireplace ever
Concrete. Steel. Wood. Stone. Drywall. Jesus;
Jesus; the second coming of fireplace designs. I would have preferred a softer matte finish on the ceiling/soffit, but to each their own, right.
I love the space for wood on the side. Not many people remember how convenient that can be.
Cozy room - rug and wood
wood frame around fireplace wall, surround materials, colors
neat storage of wood combined w hearth/bench - modern also ceiling in wood - great pix
Shelf; tucked in wood storage; low profile
Wood. fire. black. white. floor. accents.
unobtrusive fireplace wood storage- great idea.
spot like this is a great way to camouflage storage that can get pretty messy at times. Design tip: A custom storage unit can be a great way to accommodate longer pieces of wood for extra-large fireplaces. Design your firewood alcove with a longer depth to make sure everything fits.

pretty island wood, white top, and big!!!
This classic Bertoia metal stool was designed in the '50s and is still as current and fabulous as ever. I can go on and on about this design: Here you have a sculptural shape that's comfortable and interesting in and of itself. But it's also got a back that is basically see-through, so it doesn't feel

Questions6
what kind of wood did you use on the patio and stairs?
The wood here is Cumaru - a tropical hardwood not unlike Ipe, but more honey-toned in color. Here, we finished it with an oil finish that will be reapplied occasionally. Without oiling the wood will turn a soft silvery gray.
house, the framing of the door and the nice tucked away built-in.

similarly to the front, opening it up with a glass wall and door. He framed the glass opening with wood and defined an outdoor space through an elevated surface, in this case wood and without a trellis. modern exterior design with slatted wood and concrete pavers
Overhang & combination of wood & grey brick.
courtyard design update ideas for midcentury
Concrete pavers separated by gravel. Slatted-wood strips near doorway.
architects’ and designers’ adaptive use of inventive materials, modern construction techniques and new (postwar) technologies, with the garden and house separated by nothing more than a thin sheet of glass.
The parti pris, or big idea, could be about the house becoming transparent and framing views. A horizontally composed linear band draws the eye inward in this one, while a vertical totem arrests that movement. The architectural idea is to control sight lines and highlight the spectacular view.

What type of wood did you use?
Curious why type of wood and how it was secured to the wall?
Since no one has answered, I'm going to venture an educated guess. Either way, this is a wood burning fireplace, with or without gas logs, but since I only see a fireplace grate and no piping, I'm going to say those aren't gas logs.
