large island with lots of storage, microwave and thick carrera marble top in custom home in Chicago's Roscoe Village neighborhood
Love this kitchen- how deep is overhang on island?
Is the overhang on the island the same on both sides? I love the idea of having seating on both sides, but am considering having the overhang be less deep on the shorter side since my table and chairs will be behind it. Would that look odd? I'm thinking
a 6-8" overhang may not be worth it, might be only big enough for you to bump into. In this kitchen there is no kitchen table, an island this big with this much seating negates the need for a table! Ann Folan www.follynbuilders.com
Thanks- I think I'm going to nix the side overhang in favor of a clean lined edge. My table seating would bump into people sitting there anyway, so would like to avoid that. I agree if no table then this is a perfect solution!
