Who makes this Hood over the cooktop?
where did you find the ceiling mounted hood?
This is likely a custom hood. A number of ventilation manufacturers make products to be inserted into custom hoods, they are referred to as cabinet inserts
inserts. You can find different examples of cabinet inserts here: http://www.ajmadison.com/b.php/Cabinet+Insert%3BRange+Hoods/Ns~_price_with_promos_02_%7C1%3BN~32+4294960474 :) Rhoda
This is a hood fan liner, which appears rather industrial and no grill. I would recommend to cover in drywall and again just pot lights.
Good idea love the way it is ceiling mounted vs hanging down over the range

Using a similar approach with a fan liner would require about 2 inches more depth than the previous example. This kitchen has a wide stainless steel band above the cooking

Is there an integrated hood inthis design? If so, what is the brand? What are you using for ventilation for the cooktop? Thank you
Please could you let me know the make/model of the range hood you use and how it vents?
How did you attach the range hood by only using a cover panel for the front of it?
row of cabinets are wall mounted - not ceiling mounted. The following graphic was posted for another user asking a similar question. Rather than try and search for it, here it is... Note the bulkhead frame behind the top row of cabinets. This is no different than wall-mounting a standard upper cabinet

too would be interested in this information. It appears to be extremely hard to source ceiling extractors in North America, and the reviews on pop-up hood fans seem to be lacklustre. Thanks!

Can we do this type of high hung hood.
Clean wall of cabinets and use of strong color
I love the wood on the ceiling. Again, it sets the kitchen apart without any actual barriers or walls.
which the kitchen resides. The tall window wall and high ceilings in the rest of the space help counter the lowered ceiling, making it feel perfectly in balance.

Create a zone. A cooktop hood with exhaust fan and lighting hovers over the cooking station here, creating a more intimate zone. You can bring elements down into a space to define function or work areas.

I like the ceiling feature/hood. Is this plaster or gyp board. Did you just use metal corner bead or a different reinforcement? Looks great.
and a microwave over an island cooktop. That leaves 48 " from the bulkhead to the top of the stove. All appliance consultants have not endorsed a hood/vent that far apart. You seem to be the only designer who stretches the limit. If I find a high cfu unit, do you think it will work.
cooking range and sink in the island for more wall storage??
