Bench serving as a storage space is just perfect for family with kids and it leaves table free of cluster to do home work or any other required table space

hello! i really like your cozy seating area. is the seat cushion fastened to the bench. the front bench part looks like its protruding past the cushion .. is this to prevent the cushion from slipping?
type of built-in at the entry for a place to sit your things and kick your shoes off. Could Leave open to the Living Room area above as well so that it did not feel closed in.
