What type of wood is the flooring?
The Heath Ceramic tiles would work as flooring.
over the original material for a fireplace surround. Other times you have to pull material back to the studs and re-drywall and reface. These Heath Ceramic tiles are great, not to mention thin, so they can go right over an existing material once confirmed the original material is level.

do you think this ceramic tile would be okay to use if my hallway leading into the kitchen is a lighter wood? My friend thinks its best not to put real wood near a tile that looks like wood?

Is the floor a laminate one or wood and where is it from?
engineered wood floor, that can be bought from Natural Wood Floor Co from Wandsworth.
Dear beaky808, floor on the picture has been arranged by client and fitted by others, presumably floor had been sourced from Natural Wood Floor Co. of London, colour/style similar to Oak Silver / lime washed wood.

though ( as nearly as I can see) that it resembles wood grain. Would this be achieved from acid etching or a painted finish?
What species of wood is that on the wall? Also, is it ship lap or t&g
cement board underlayment for tile to get a cement-wall look (but without the wood grain). Experiment and have fun. Patty
I am a novice too but maybe looking up vinegar, steel wool mixture as a stain to achieve the barn wood look.
The wood is vertical grain doug fir. They are straight cut and blind nailed over black backing. We used biscuits to keep them straight and well spaced.
Karen, you might try a grey deck stain on the wood. It won't look just like this, but you can experiment with colors and see if you can get something you like. You can also select some nice stainless
