slate is not recommended b/c of unevenness - is this type slate more uniform? It does not look uneven - it is beautiful, especially in contrast w/the wood. This is truly a beautiful application.

So this floor was poured and then polished, correct? Deep enough to expose the aggregate. Did you add color? How is it so light in appearance? Does concrete get lighter, the deeper you polish? It's beautiful, btw. :-)

The type of wood is santos mahogany. I am not sure where you are located, but many wood flooring companies carry it. This particular flooring is out of New York.

Flooring materials- I like simple, wooden floors. They are easier to clean and give a more modern look.
