We are going to build a home using concrete block soon in Sedona. Could you please answer these questions: 1. Is the top course a solid block or is it hollow and with the voids grouted solid? 2. Are all voids in the wall grouted solid? 3. I assume the wall is a single
single wythe wall, is this correct? 4. Did you have to use any wall drains at the bottom of the wall to let any water out that may get inside? Can you recommend a drain type if you did use one? 5. Are the block constructed using a water repellent admixture? Same question pertains to the grout. 6. Did
Did you seal the outside face with a water repellent sealer? 7. Is the block ground face or other? 8. Does the inside face of the wall get hot? Any pointers you could provide, would be appreciated. Thank you

Leed Platinum by the Bay
A certified LEED-H Platinum building by Butler Armsden Architects, the Tiburon Bay House features an innovative and sustainable landscape. Native lawn, permeable surfaces, and a gray water system were all integrated into the landscape design. Great care was taken to reuse existing materials and drought
drought tolerant plants. Existing concrete was transformed into a new patio; no-mow lawn was used as a low-maintenance grass solution; and gabion walls were built from recycled materials.
What is the retaining wall material?

this house designed by Abramson Teiger Architects. This approach to the front of the house reveals a complex, irregular composition of folded roof and wall planes, continuous along the length of the house.

I have corrosion of my external rammed earth walls and some internal. Can u recommend a good sealer? How are your external walls holding up? Were they capped

As an aside, this pool is fitted with a solid, electrically operated pool cover. It doesn't alleviate the requirement for a pool
typical solution to waterproof the top edges of walls - we use this a lot. The idea of tiles for the rammed earth was mostly about trying to match the colour. Good luck with your search!

According to Nimmo, all of the materials were local, and some of the stone was extracted from the site. A stone wall defining the back of the carport aligns with the breezeway that separates the main suite from the studio. This path therefore frames the southern views that the client cherishes.
