What is the name of the large plant?
It's a bird of paradise plant
We apologize, but the beautiful plant was purchase by the homeowner and we do not know the name.
Window plants: I'd put window plants in a bay window in a living room with lots of sunshine.
way sooner rather than later.Choosing the right plant for your home isn't always so simple, as there are many choices, and one must always consider the needs of the plant first. Add Strelitzia to your list of possibilities, and even if it never flowers indoors, you'll still enjoy its beautiful green
though not mandatory. Mist the plant with water or place it on a bed of rocks sitting in water. The water in the tray will evaporate, providing humidity for the plant. Additionally, bird of paradise likes to be pot bound; it will bloom better this way. So if you divide the plant or move it into a larger pot

Questions4
what type of plants are used here? I see bamboo. What is the grass with the flowers in the front?
What are the tall straight spikey plants used in the retaining wall in the middle?
rush, and scouringrush horsetail; and in South Africa as snake grass. This plant is very invasive. I have seen it grow between cracks in pavement. Cut it to the ground to prune it. It looks awful hedged.
Are those plants commonly found in desert like places? There's a environmentally friendly house
house that was built near mine and one thing that stuck out to me during the tour was that all the plants used minimal amounts of water. I have been interested in them ever since. http://www.randleslandscaping.com/id2.html

Questions6
What are the mass plantings on the front lawn?
Absolutely love your work! Could you tell me what plants were used on the front lawn - in front of the trees? Thanks.
very close - low green bush, flower color note, minimalist but with some life
Normally you would expect beds like these to be filled with flowing drifts of mixed plantings, but here we see clean lines of geometric beds as well as a restricted planting scheme, with one species per bed. It’s interesting to see that even the trees have been planted in a block
t’s easy, you may say, to find examples of this style of planting in modern minimalist gardens, where the simple plantings lend themself to modern layouts
