owners of the 2002 San Francisco Decorator Showcase house wanted a very modern kitchen and family room that would accommodate their family of six. The concept was a stainless steel cooking kitchen, contained within a larger kitchen/family room, with a swath of periwinkle blue highlighting the intersection
form on the backsplash, and in the form of laminate on the ceiling. The lighting is integrated with the panels to enhance the sense that the cooking kitchen is itself an integrated appliance. The upper cabinets are spaced off the wall with lights behind that highlight the quilting of the steel. Other materials
below. The Island sits off the floor on legs to increase the apparent size of the room. The side of the island that faces out is designed for in-kitchen eating while the side facing back is left open for easy access to plates and glasses stored below.
