what is the floor made of? where can i find this floor?
Just like any dark color in the direct heat it can get warmer. But with Britto Charette chose the floor it is not a problem. Their choices in products are impeccable. Great floor.

The floor is an integral color concrete, also a custom color created on site.
Is is the same material on the floor?
Huge! nice rustic material used for the ceiling, wall and floor. The modern furniture stands out. Love the idea of separated yet united living
I like the fact that the floor is extended from the inside to create a nice living

These are Live Oak trees and in this photo they are near a lake. We're not familiar with the climate in Palm desert...what is it like? There are different varieties of Live Oaks and they do grow in dry, hot places but would require regular water
Also the coloring of this patio floor seems to agree with me ,

How is the deck floor supported? In a traditional way with footings?
Most of the 2,600-square-foot residence is on the first floor. The spaces overlook a courtyard covered with a glass roof and open on the side (right) through deep-set fins of mahogany and steel. These vertical pieces allow for light, breezes and views when seen from the front, but when viewed at an angle

For water features I would recommend a minimum of 6" reinforced (rebar) concrete for sidewalls and 8" thick floor. We usually do 8" sidewalls for water features. If it is only 8'x4'x1' deep you could probably do 4" sidewalls if you used high strength concrete and
