Avenue car noise - I wonder if a wall of some sort will help? Perhaps landscaping?
gravel and plants spotted into the gravel.
Here are plants I was mentioning.
still private with the wall, nice way to incorporate a 'zen garden' sort of courtyard, good option
The starkness of this style of wall also allows great contrasts to be created when it's used as a background for a strong architectural planting. If the blocks you use are not smooth or your preferred color, they can always be rendered and painted, but don't use capping stones along the top, as this will

What is the plant by the wall?
Is the tall plant by the wall with the bushy ends bamboo? Or horsetail maybe? It looks lovely. Does it work in shade?
-Love the sub-tropical plants. -Awning is very modern and minimalistic. -Mainly monochromatic colours. -Pool is modern and looks expensive. 8/10 - Enjoy very much.

water into a large basin. Koi Fish, Gold fish and water plants bring a new mini ecosystem of life, and provide a focal point and meditational environment. The integral colored concrete wall begins at the main water feature and weaves to the south west corner of the yard where water once again emerges
steel also acts as a ribbon, tie-ing the multiple spaces together in this garden. The plant palette uses grasses and rushes to further establish in the subconscious that a natural water source does exist. Planting was performed outside of the wire fence to connect the new landscape to the existing open
slate flooring, and a smooth integral pewter colored concrete wall defining and retaining earth around it. A water feature is the backdrop to this outdoor room extending the flooring material (slate) into the vertical plane covering a wall that houses three playful stainless steel spouts that spill water

Terrace with planted joints
renovation was previously a blighted construction site. Three terrace levels were manipulated on a tricky, compact site. Linear strips of Isotoma were planted to create a living rug and visual interest for the deck viewing above. A spa was set into an Ipe deck. PHoto credit: Meg Messina http://megmessina
yes, there is a secret door made of ipe, on the downhill side of the spa. The second boxwood on the downhill portion of the spa is planted still in its can, so it is easy to pull out of the way if one requires access.

Beautiful staircase wall! What tile did you use on the wall? Thanks.
wow. Floors are brushed limestone. Love the stairs with tile accent on wall
on branches and trunks of trees or on rocks in their native habitat, most can be grown in containers. Not surprisingly, bromeliads are members of a plant family known as Bromeliaceae, of which the pineapple is the most well-known member.

Papyrus in pots how to plant: go to
minimal frame on folding glass wall
Pebbles up to exterior wall and paving slabs
A wall can also become a portal framing a special space or the landscape. This open wood "stage" floats between solid stucco planes and can be closed with clear glass. Is it a wall, or is it a window — or door?
Up close we can see that it serves the dining room. A sliding glass wall nicely extends
You can even plant papyrus in containers for a more structured and minimalist impact. Minimize drainage by plugging holes in planters.
