I love the beautiful area rug - any ideas where to find one like it?
looks like natural grade cherry (not select) with elements of heartwood and large mineral streaks - clear coated with no stain applied and darkened over time.
There was some stain used to even out the wood color but for the most part it was left as a natural color. Mahogany will naturally darken over
beautiful and complimentary wood hues, archway and overall open and inviting design. fireplace, pool table, rugs and seating layout are nice touches. gives a warm, cozy feeling to a large area.

Natural stone on the fireplace? Thank you.
Yes all natural stone. Faux stone could never give you the variety and the lintel that you see there.
Stone, mantle, wood ceiling.. (my) window trim would need change to natural.

brush I scrubbed it on and then smoothed it out. I wanted the wood color to show thru. Then you can seal it with a no shine sealer to look more natural. If you don't seal it and get a mark on it, it will come off if you rub to hard. I have wiped some off without taking it off if you are careful.

Treat your feetTen minutes a day barefoot on a natural surface supposedly aids general health and blood flow. So treat your feet with natural flooring underfoot – whether that’s wooden floorboards, a seagrass carpet or a sheepskin rug – and get that circulation going.

The renovation of this contemporary Brighton residence saw the introduction of warm natural materials to soften an otherwise cold contemporary interior. Recycled Australian hardwoods, natural stone and textural fabrics were used to add layers of interest and visual comfort.
Here we see how the collage rug coexists nicely with the floors. The designer opted for just one area rug in this high-traffic entertainment area. "We avoided layering in too many rugs on top of the gorgeous hardwood floors, which we wanted to highlight. They really warm up the space," he says.
