hog panel, exremely durable. Lower foot or so would still need a finer fencing to keep small critters out.

Skirting - if underside of porch is somewhat exposed, put hard gauge wire mesh behind skirting to keep out critters. Wire mesh should be buried beneath earth for critters that dig/burrow.
