The grass is Red Fescue or Festuca Rubra. It should be able to grow in Florida, assuming that where you live does not get below 30 degrees. It is a non-mow grass that requires less water than conventional
I've read through all the Q&A here, but no comments regarding irrigation method. i have similar grass with pop-up mp rotors but worry the grass is so thick its difficult to penetrate to the soil. hence why i am wondering if you put in subterranean irrigation. thanks.

Hi there - those are Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Nigrescens' or commonly called black mondo grass.
Love the mixture of lime green and burgundy or purple grasses. But no evergreens! They get too big
