7. Go wild with flowers. Another lawn
Choose flowers that bloom at different times. More variety and colors to mix it up.

lots of colour and pretty flowers!
7. Go wild with flowers. Another lawn alternative (though somewhat less water saving) is to go absolutely over-the-top with flowers. The classic cottage garden look does require some weeding, but it is well worth the effort for its cheering effect. Just be sure to choose flowers that bloom at different
different times of year, so your garden will never be completely bare.

Is there a design plan for this? What flowers are used?
Is there a design plan for this garden, and a list of what plants were used? Thank you.
What zone is this garden in? (And I am also waiting to find out which plants were used as already asked
think the white flowers in front are annual vinca (Catharanthus roseus), sometimes called Madagascar periwinkle. The purple spikes look to be annual salvia 'Victoria', and the tall orange flowers I think are annual Mexican Sunflower. All thrive in full sun.
I think the orange flower is an annual called
(Tithonia rotundifolia). Planted in spring after all danger of frost, it can easily grow to 6' tall in a matter of months. It's a great plant for cut flowers and attracting butterflies, especially Monarch.

The small tree to the left of the rose garden is a Dwarf Korean Lilac on standard. There are actually four of them framing the space. The low hedges are Green Velvet Boxwoods and the taller sheared
to give the garden a wilder air. Easygoing rounded shapes are lower maintenance in a clipped garden than those with crisp, straight lines, and they blend well with bountiful flowers.

Can you tell me what the white flowers are, and what the light pink and darker pink/red right in front are??
Specifics: The white flowers are Phlox David, the other pink and pink/red are dahlias.
Thanks, this whole garden was removed this spring to renovate the house! We are in the process of putting it back together now, and it's almost completed.
Beautiful shapes and drifts of color. More garden than I want, but could be simplified.
