I am not certain but the landscape architect told me that pea gravel does not work. It was some sort of course crushed stone, nothing fancy, sort of like standard 3/4 crushed aggregate. It held its place well and didnt feel too bad under foot, although I wouldn't have used it for areas that
outside of this house. Fan of plain stucco -- no pattern. More like adobe. And the windows are nice. And the relationship to the patio. Well integrated.
