Hi The kitchen cupboards are recycled timber flooring. Here in Australia it is known as Tiger wood because of the obvious striping. Hope this helps, Regards, Dominic Bagnato

No, there is no concrete under the wood deck. You can build over an

How did you build the exposed deck so the 1st floor stays dry?
The original house had individual wide plank cedar boards. This material remains on the original portions of the house. On the new / re-worked sections we used a cedar siding panel product that matched the original. Thanks for your question.

What happens to the floor when it rains? Is there any way to drain excess water that might pool on the porch?
house but we want to put them perpendicular to the house as the screened porch measures 11'3" x 25'8". The Perennial Wood deck boards are 12' with 1/8" spacers.
I am deciding on my floor now. The tongue and goove looks beautiful but with only a 1/4" pitch over 11' I am concerned with puddling also.
What was the flooring material you chose, it looks very rich, i am guessing cherry.
I advised the owner against this floor for that very reason. We created overhangs to help prevent rain from getting in but they know that with a hard driving rain there might be some puddling and if so, they will need to towel
