I live in Canada (very cold temperatures in winter) and am attempting at creating a similar water feature to surround the stone patio. I want that look of a patio floating in water. I originally thought to create the water rill/pool using concrete, but aside from the fact that
love the stone.. can you share where it's from?
It is one pool with a stone "bridge". It is approximately 6-ft wide.
Using stone can hide many frost upheavals by allowing the cracking to occur at the mortar joints. But, and this is a big deal, nothing will replace an adequate subsurface structure
which, should it move, will move as one piece. We are very fortunate in our area to be able to avoid many of these technical details. Perhaps a local stone yard will have resources for your use.

The firm is responsible for custom home design for a number of homes in the prestigious country club community of Caves Valley. Designed as the fi rst and only speculative home to be built at the Caves Valley Golf Course Community, this custom stone house utilizes old world materials and craftsmanship
hip inside and out. Although the house has a large footprint, the design creates the illusion of an old manor home that has been added to over the years. Although the site was extremely narrow and had a signifi cant slope, the design of the footprint and surrounding landscape minimizes these conditions
Can you tell me the exact stone used on this house? Thank you
Do you have other photos for this house's facade? I'd love to see them and possibly have the architect design our facade. I have a house plan for the interior but am still working on the exterior. Thanks!
