Asian Inspired Woodland Garden

We needed a bridge to cross the dry creek bed, so I designed a version of a Japanese yatsuhashi, or zig zag, bridge. It is clad in concrete backer board. I wanted to simulate a granite mountain plateau with a boulder peak. The client purchased the concrete lantern which perfectly complements the entrance
upcoming journey. Its yatsuhashi, or zigzag design, plus the lantern and boulder clearly set the theme for this Asian-inspired woodland garden.

It looks very similar to the gravel in this photo. The designer says it is locally called "Tuscany" or "black and Tan" or "Nursery Crush" http://www
Formal designs benefit from strong focal points
materials are the last things you want to track onto your hardwood entryway. One of my favorite design treatments for upgrading crushed rock paths uses enriched thresholds and intersections of stone.
Grossman Landscape Contractors, Inc.SaveEmail Use decorative elements. Statues, urns and planters, and water features are all elements of French garden design. The key is restraint. A simple fixture at the end of a gravel path is all you need as a focal point.

Classic Designs often work the best for a traditional style home set on a rural estate in Princeton NJ. For the dinning terrace a bluestone patio was installed with a brick inlayed rug. Plantings beds filled with perennials and flowering shrubs surround the patio and lead you down to the swimming pool
yard. The walls were installed with Pennsylvania Fieldstone and the pool patio is Blue/ Grey Sandstone. The project was collaboration between Harmony Design Group and Ronni Hock Garden & Landscape. Ronni Hock is also responsible for the photographs.
