what is the wood siding material
Hmmm... good question. The material and fabrication were not that expensive but it was a bit tricky to install as they brought it out all in one piece then had to field weld to the uprights. Not sure how that would compare to prefab railing... probably a bit more expensive but worth it for the look.
Sorry... can't help you with sourcing material in Florida as we are in California but it is a fairly common type of DG (decomposed granite). Good luck!
Not raised, but the idea of patio edging

Freaking cool!!! Love the different textures. we could do this! By using the same wood as the deck on the edge, it would tie in. build a cement wall up and put

Water flows over the corten rusted-steel edges of this courtyard waterfeature and down into a small channel also filled with pebbles. This whole structure was set to finish flush with only a half-inch gap between the water surface and a cast concrete seat wall that extends along the courtyard’s perimeter

looks fantastic though and would like to use it if possible.” “Water runs over the Cor-Ten-steel-edged, rock-filled” “The steel and water make a great combination. Keeping the water at the top of the edge makes a great reflection and interesting surface.”

sits on a floating membrane fabric that allows the subsoil, which is a highly organic fill material from the farmland to swell and shrink without disturbing the structural integrity of the pathway. The paver edge is bound to the fabric to contain the granular gravel base and keeps the gravel and bark
