how did you put the flagstone on the ground? Did you put it on top of sand or gravel? How durable is this ?

what did you use for sheathing on top of pergola?
If you mean the fire pit top, it is Arizona Sandstone, cut into semi circular sections and the exposed face chiseled for a natural look.
