This looks like the Heat & Glo QVI which is now discontinued. They have some other great big fireplaces though.
an interior designer, but in my opinion the chandelier that you like seems a little formal for a room like this. This room is quite rustic, which is why the Casablanca candle chandelier works well.

It's just a couple and their eating habits are simple, natural foods, minimum frying etc... In our area a hood is not required by law. It's mostly for heat and smells. If you have good ventilation you can consider not having one.

A smaller version would be a place for a sweaty gardener to rinse head and neck with cold water. Sounds like a luxury, but in our local heat, sunstroke kills, and that cold water feels so good! If you use a farm hydrant you don't have to winterize it, and you can put it away from the house
