there used to be a place up on Route 22 in Pawling, NY. You pick out a frame from a whole lot of crusty beds and the guys sand blasts it and cleans it up. We had two twins joined to form a king size bed. Hope this helps.
It's so beautiful! Does it need to be painted black? I hate to see a beautiful antique bed painted. If the answer is yes, if go for a mushroom color quilt with some texture or sheen & dark grey accents & white sheets. Perhaps a light wool throw in a charcoal
