Wrap around awning provides sun protection to the large sliding glass doors which opens onto expansive deck.
How was the deck attached to the ground? Did you use footings or just lay the whole thing on top of the ground?
Thank you, though I have to confess our lovely client built the deck himself. I believe the joists are made of treated pine. They are sacrificial joists, ie they will rot over time as they are laid on the ground. Alternatively you could raise the joist on metal stirrups, set in concrete. This would

Give outdoor rooms a boost. In the backyard or on decks, porches and patios, citrus colors are a natural choice. Echoing the vivid hue of the sun and flowers in bloom, yellow and orange add punch, while green blends

Any other pictures of deck siding? Using your idea for ours.
Can you please tell me what you used to hide the underside of the deck? Thank you.
What stone did you use for the patio?
We want to have a patio at the same level as our interior floor as you have done. Our builder is reluctant to do this because he's concerned about water splashing up and damaging the doors and walls and also not having
wall high enough and deep enough to sit on is a good way to add extra seating to your patio.
This is the perfect alternative to lattice wood that is typically used for high decks. I personally dislike that look. I have a traditional colonial that is built on a slope. This would be perfect.

Decking. A contractor friend of mine calls wood decks “dry rot in slow motion.” He’s pretty spot-on. Traditional wood decks, regardless of how much waterproofing sealant you apply each year, will eventually succumb to nature’s forces (or termites). But if you’ve got a sloping property, need a level surface

I love this patio design. I live in Tennessee so cannot hire this contractor! Where can I get the plans?
That deck was designed in response to a specific site condition and as an extension to the new addition. We don't typically sell plans because each condition is unique and is going to call for a unique solution. We would be happy to work with you to design a deck that fits your house
