Totally love the deck on upstairs that is roofed. Such a wonderful space to chill.
Covered deck, clerestory windows

Like the wood jutting out towards retaining wall side with no rails at all. Looks natural and clean

planted various Southern California–friendly plants in the backyard, including an olive tree and a pepper tree. French and Spanish lavenders surround the deck, and Jerusalem sage is planted near the driveway. A honeysuckle vine climbs up behind the fire pit. Festoon String Lights, Architectural Boom Sconce:
An extension of the kitchen and living room addition, the arching deck continues the lines of the kitchen and extends the living space into the back yard.
That deck was designed in response to a specific site condition and as an extension to the new addition. We don't typically sell plans because each condition is unique and is going to call for a unique solution. We would be happy to work with you to design a deck that fits your house
Fanning of the deck. I would want a carve out for specimen plant

Decking. A contractor friend of mine calls wood decks “dry rot in slow motion.” He’s pretty spot-on. Traditional wood decks, regardless of how much waterproofing sealant you apply each year, will eventually succumb to nature’s forces (or termites). But if you’ve got a sloping property, need a level surface
surface for outdoor entertaining and want to avoid the expense and disruption of building retaining walls, decking is the way to go. Since you’re not likely to add on to the deck once it’s built, now is the time to decide how it will be used and make space for all the furnishings you want.

Can build pergola over my new deck in VA
love this covered deck with fireplace. And the furniture!
Simple fireplace at end of deck
Walk out to a true outdoor room. Like this for dining
French doors next to the home organization center lead to the deck, which replaced a multilevel deck in the same spot. A new fireplace aligns with the end of the island and connects to the house with a generous pergola that will one day be woven with jasmine. Stairs on the right lead to a sloping backyard
granite, marble and hand-painted tiles sourced from all over the world. Built into the side of the sloping lot the design provides a spacious walk out with decks and open areas facing the lake below. The best testament to this project are the home owners own words “who else can say that after 13 months

Can a stairway from an upper deck be suspended like the lower deck yet made to pull up to upper floor to deny access from ground?
Can the lower deck can pull up? Or is it just like
You should check out Landscape Architect, Scott Lankford on Houzz. He did the landscape design for this project. Thanks for asking ! Dan
The lower deck is hung from the deck column's because we could not put footings too close to the septic system in front of the house. The deck does not pull up
What type of connections and rod was used to hhang the bottom suspended deck?
if deck needs to stick out I like cabling
The supporting rope for the sit out
Love the railings for the porch and hanging deck
peak almost the same - but carved out the deck area in the middle; perfect to keep snow off the deck.
Looks like it could belong at Clear Lake. Like the deck!
