steel, not powder-coated. Due to the amount of field assembly, powder-coating would not have been practical. Minimalism takes a lot of time and editing. It's easy to be modern- hard to be minimal. There were at least 4 study models and many drawings used to determine the final design!

a staircase for anyone even remotely afraid of heights. Glass treads, glass handrail almost completely disappear these floating stairs. The use of minimal materials in a rather complicated form make for an interesting architectural feature.
