if cost allows it would be great if casey could add a skylight to the upstairs hallway or bathroom. skylights make small spaces look big and will be huge on resale but also a nice feature to light the hallway.
skylight over stairs open area around stairs
An ideal place to have a skylight is right above a staircase. Stairways are usually dark and unwelcoming places but they don't have to be. The skylight makes this area bright and welcoming. Plus it allows light to be brought into the home without it being glaring; the stairway helps to break up that
A great skylight is another good way to bring some sunshne into your home. Try to find a spot in the home where it will let in the most light so you can get the sense that you're in a sunnier destination.

stairs all the way up to attic? skylight
This view illustrates a couple things: The design of the skylight is important, as it will be visible; and the wall below a skylight is well suited for displaying and highlighting artwork. Note how the triptych is aligned with the opening at left, so it can be appreciated from across the room.

Casa Lluvia Blanca
Elliptical domes and hewn wooden beams sculpt the ceilings, reflecting soft colors onto curving walls. A long, narrow stairway wrapped with windows and skylights is a serene connection to the second floor ''Moroccan' inspired suite with domed fireplace and hand-sculpted tub, and "French Country" inspired suite
I like the skylights and the moroccan inspired vibe.
Love the skylight above the stairs
The skylight in this photo is between planes because it extends all the way across.
... reveals the skylight, a minimal construction with only perimeter framing. It combines with a window above the stair to frame views of the sky and trees beyond.
This small walkway leads from the top of the stair to a kitchen in the distance. The windows at left, combined with the skylight above the stair, give the sense of a bridge traversing open space.

Skylight and open shelves over stairs
skylight over the stair case add light into the basmant
Like the idea of the skylight and the wide staircase. I like the idea of the shelves on the side, but not the design. It looks too unfinished
Skylights above the stairway bring natural light deep into the house and add drama to an otherwise dark and narrow space.
