I am simply curious about the detailing of the inlay "Herringbone" pattern. Is this hard to achieve? There doesn't seem to be any expansion required for the timber and a clean butt joint is also provided where the Herringbone

You stain the entire floor the lighter color first. Then tape off the pattern of your choosing, helps to create a template to reuse. Then stain the pattern a shade darker. Hope that helps!
