Really like the glass instead of the banister. How much do you think that might cost? It looks great
We just designed a similar one and the final cost was $300 a lineal foot.
Sorry, I don't have a cost just for the guardrail. It is custom designed to work
WOOD GRAIN STAINED VERY DARK TO MATCH THE DARK BRONZE WINDOWS
Upstairs the glass is no longer full-height; it stops at the height of a typical guardrail to save on material and the cost of using more glass. More: Artful Stairs — Continuity in Steel

Where do You put the Heather under the Window?
Love this idea, my windows are too high for window seats (I thought).. but this is a great solution.
reading area for only window in living room
High window idea for reading space
nook in front window over stairs
An alcove way up high. Who says window seats have to be chair-level? Climbing a short ladder up to this fun window seat separates you from everyone and everywhere else. I would feel like a little bird perched in my nest.

Contrast dark wood with white paints. Book book by a window
Landing built in under window for the boys wing
Love everything about this room, staircase, window seat,
whole home tour. A piece of artwork, a painted accent wall, a window seat, a vase of flowers, a hanging light or even a small, colorful rug can all work to draw the eye.
If you have just an extra foot of space, you can add a functional window seat.
Make it cozy. I would probably say this is the stair landing of my dreams. There isn't anything I'd change about the space. The cozy bench under the window is my favorite part.

add windows,to stairwells and landings are great places to consider. They're frequently dark and windowless spots. Also like the hanging glass balls/light fixtures (use colored discs?) Also like the windows, if needed for privacy
wainscotting, contrasting color on banister, stained glass window
the bedroom gets plenty of morning light with windows and skylights. But I imagine that once you get out of bed, a trip down light-filled stairs like these also would help jump-start your day.

The wall light warms up the area and makes it an ideal place to flip though a magazine or have an afternoon siesta. The daybed
