looks like reclaimed wood. you can achieve a similar effect by buying new wood, hitting it with chains, dropping tools, etc. mix the species too. then use a product called lifetime wood treatment ... which creates the silver/aged patina

stairs, but the reason there is is because of people like myself and Specialized.. It costs a lot of money to do them right and takes nearly every tool made to do them correctly... Just a word of advice from all the times I've had to go fix steps behind trim guys who claimed to be "stair builders"
