Traditional Staircase
I am in love with the design of this entry!! Would you mind providing any more information about the railing used? This project has some of the best use of material I think I've ever seen-- the stair railing is just one example!
What kind of wood is used for the stairs?
The railing was custom designed By AMi and fabricated by a manhattan workroom
Love these stairs. Thick chunky look in medium to dark wood

Could you tell me what you used for the stairs and how it was finished to give the sharp look...thanks
The stairs are site built, interior used the flooring material, white oak, and the exterior is made from mahogany decking.
Making a narrow space with stairs feel spacious
I like the picture rail in the hallway and the way the exterior stairs are reflected inside via the window.
Single Long picture rail in corridor
A delicate picture rail brings a dramatic hallway with larger-than-life architecture down to a personal level. Tip: Sometimes placing a few small objects on your picture ledge can produce big results.
“Like the idea of putting a picture ledge above the built in storage benches. Place pictures on top” — heatherdouthit
