“The opening in the deck above is 10'-5" by 7'-2". Depending on the local code it may be possible to be more compact. consider the wisth of the treads at 36" plus 3" per side for the C section steel frame; multiply by 2 and add a minimum of 1" gap between the flights and 1" gap to the wall on either side”
“steel staircase like this require preliminary design (duh), engineering, shop drawings and execution. The execution (here in Seattle) was by Gagnon welding, i'd put it at about $12~13k. That excludes the threads, provided separately at the time of flooring. Architectural and engineering fees were embedded”
