Did you paint these frames, and antique them yourself? Or are they store bought. I am really struggling with what to do on my stair case. I've looked at several ideas, but yours fits my style, and I adore your creativity.
along my stairs with a similar style but have no idea which pictures to use and how to lay out. I have mostly 8 x 10 pictures (and smaller) in frames so not sure if I should have some pics enlarged to make it more interesting like this.

about to redo our handrail and paint spindles- love this look. Do I stain or paint black? Is there a gloss? What do I tell my contractor to achieve this look? Also, i have young kids and I'm afraid they will rub off the new coat of paint on the spindles how do you keep the paint from chipping? Any suggestions

Colorful stairs
it was painted an awful color so we decided to strip the paint and then sanded it down to the bare wood, after that we just used a neutral wood satin to revive the wood color. All this was done over 20 years ago...so I'm sorry I don't remember much more.
...it's a mix of left over paints we had.
nice idea to save money; just simple wood and paint. love this idea.

Paint them. Here’s an easy and inexpensive way to add a unique splash to your staircase: paint! This lime green hue is playful and cheery, and the perfect entrance to this eclectic landing.

Can you please tell me what paint color this is? Thanks.
Hello, I used a custom mixed stain, definitely an oil base stain. If you go to any quality paint store you should be able to find a darker stain color. Off the top of my head I cant remember what base we used on these. Any Sherwin Williams store

what color is the handrail painted? Is the landing floor painted as well?
Hi, are the treads painted a different color white than the risers?
They appear to be a little darker, or is that just the lighting? How is the paint holding
holding up? I'm getting ready to do the same, but I'm thinking of doing the treads with a 2-part epoxy paint (that has some flexibility for wood)? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.
The landing is not painted. Honestly, I have the paint color in my notes and my notes are at my cape house. Sorry for the delay but I won't have those notes until Friday August 31. I will
This is an oil-based paint, all the same color. It's holding up well, but this staircase isn't the main one, so doesn't get a ton of use.
