Thanks for your reply.. Planning for a loft staircase. Have an area 75" wide and bottom of loft 75" so 15" tall and 15" deep but worried height is difficult to use.
This stair is technically a bookcase, since it’s not code compliant and the opening to the roof access where the person is heading is too low — watch your head!

mymellow, You're correct, it certainly would be safer for people with special needs (not so sure how safe it would be for toddlers or to move furniture though), but anyhow that would require 1/12 slope (handicap ramp) to meet code. And if that's the case then this particular stair run would be the length
