Internal courtyards are a great amenity in places like Tokyo, so that people can have a slice of sunlit outdoor space away from the public realm. But if Mount Fuji Architects simply placed the courtyard on the south, it would have opened it and the interior spaces to the street. So they cut diagonally across

How is the steel cable mounted to the post?
still waiting to hear how the cables are mounted to the posts? Also what material is used for the cables and where can it be found?
The end post is 3"x3" and the rest are 3/4"x3". The posts are mounted away from the wall on a custom steel bracket. The drywall conceals the wooden riser on the stair treads.
