people love the fact that with a second floor master you have a private space, totally independent of the rest of the house. Others prefer a main floor master for the convenince of not having to go up and down stairs, something that is more and more important as we age. I would discourage you from doing
narrow, so we just left about an inch and a half on either side.

The narrowest we can build by code in CA is 3' but that is really narrow. I think. 3'6" is a good width. The big thing to consider is ease of getting furniture etc upstairs once you move in. Hope that
