Grand Stair
This historic home and coach house in a landmark district on Astor Street was built in the late 1800’s. Originally designed as an 11,000sf single family residence, the home was divided into nine apartments in the 1960’s and had fallen into disrepair. The new owners purchased the property with a vision
into a home with an open floor plan and modern amenities for entertaining and family living, incorporating vintage details from the original property whenever possible. Program requirements included five bedrooms, all new bathrooms, contemporary kitchen, salon, library, billiards room with bar, home office
office, cinema, playroom, garage with stacking car lifts, and outdoor gardens with all new landscaping. The home is unified by a grand staircase which is flooded with natural light from a glass laylight roof. The first level includes a formal entry with rich wood and marble finishes, a walnut-paneled

Thank you so much! Can I ask what brand of cables did you use for this project?
This photo shows my favorite feature of a great house tour of a gay couple's dream home near Forest Park in St Louis. I love the way they made a book shelf instead of putting up a half wall, and I like their budget wiring. They just used

curious about your experience and realize you might not want to advise us not to listen to our engineers. I just can't imagine such a short flight of stairs deflecting. You seem to have a much longer flight of stairs in your projects. I'd appreciate any advice you can give. I also have to say your work is
Are the side of the stairs metal? Or is that painted? I absolutely love all of your work!
In some projects they have even applied it on site. Thanks,
Hi, Was this question for the general forum? I think you can use curtains and shutters together. I would pick curtains that compliment your furniture
It looks like they were confused and were trying to add your photo to their category "stairs/staircase", or "escalera" in Spanish. Nice escalera by the way :-) I like the wall as well. I did a wall finish about ten years ago with a similar concept
