This bathroom strikingly resembles my 1910 hall bathroom with all its original tile -- same hexigon floor tile, same subway wall tile (mine is a bit chipped and crackled), same square tile for edging, same upper rail edging tile. I also have a similar tub and curtain
I'm redoing my tween daughters bathroom and she wants a vintage look. Using 1" glossy white hexagon tile for floor and white subway in shower and on walls with a chair rail. Should I use white grout on the walls or carry the light grey grout I'm using on the floors onto walls?
curtain rod. Problem is I need to remove the 80s vinyl tub surround on the wall and replace it with tile. I'll never find (or afford) matching vintage subway tiles. Any ideas what I can use that will harmonize?

The wall tile is handmade subway tile and the floor is glass hexagon mosaic, the accent liner above the base is also glass. All tile was purchased at Discover Tile at the Boston Design Center. Contact Paige and show her this photo, I'm sure she can help you.

The glass mosaic floor tile was purchased at Discover Tile in the Boston Design Center. I can't recall the manufacturer but if you call Discover Tile, I'm sure Paige (sales associate) can help you.

What are the benefits of cork flooring? Is it better than wood for the kitchen?
The benefit of cork for this homeowner is the softness underfoot. She really wanted something soft because she has some knee sensitivities. I think it is fairly practical

The floor tile is "Brookfield" from The Tile Shop. The wall tiles are Bianco Carrera Marble tile in 3" x 6" and 12" x 24" with a mini pencil trim between.

Love the wall and my vanity layout is exactly like this!! What would you do with the other walls especially the shower and tub surround? Similar tile? Different? We currently have the fiberglass surrounds.
I assume that it is a synthetic or if real half thickness to cut down on weight? Source for wall material?

the stones. I think you are on the right track with similarly colored tiles, maybe something a little larger scale, that would pull those warmer colors out of the stone wall behind the vanity. Start with maybe some 6" x 6" tiles and see how those look. Have fun!
