I have a family room with knotty pine wanescotting and the same window trim and need to redo the floor (now covered in a rug). Just not sure if more wood would look right, although this looks nice.
vacation time. The floor is a distressed Douglas fir in a darker stain and the wainscoting is also a knotty Douglas fir, not pine. The baseboards, window trims and crown moulding are a clear, edge grain Douglas fir. You are correct in that there is such a thing as too much wood in a room! An area rug
