using hand scraped wood floors in the kitchen vs regular wood floors? I am considering getting hand scraped floors since they look more durable, especially for a kitchen. I have an open concept first floor and want to keep the floor uniform, but I'm terrified of wood in the kitchen. Great design! Looks

conceal than hand scraped. Assuming you were going with a stain finish the hand scraping would also help.
island was made from custom cabinetry with a marble top. A kitchen and bath showroom should be able to help you design one that fits your needs and will be able to tell you what it costs. Hope this helps

other hand, we tend to like things that are new and "perfect." We also like them to stay that way, even after heavy use by a crazy family with 4 children, 2 dogs, and 6 cats. I think that's why Americans have over the years embraced "engineered" (read: man-made) products such as Corian, Cultured Marble
to the design discussions, and you will probably get some interesting and apropos design advice.
These cabinets hide grime better than most, because there is an uneven glaze over the paint that mimics wear & tear...plus the paint/glaze finish is a high-end, smooth, soft finish with a nice "hand" that

They are made of wood. The type of wood is called "lyptus" and they are in wonderful shape even years after the remodel. They only require periodic oiling and use of a cutting board for prep etc...
