Just curious, I am going to have white mission style cabinets...similar to these and 2 dark islands? Would it be okay to have 2 different colors of granite?
Are they Polished Nickel or Satin Nickel?
We are doing a white kitchen with a steel hood very similiar to yours and a chrome faucet in the island (black countertops). Would we be better off doing polished or satin for the pendants or does it matter? Thank you for your time - your kitchen is beautiful
Is the dark countertop in the background the same color as the island cabinets? And what is that material/color, please? Sorry, obsessed with this kitchen for my home.
love it, love it, love it!
is the dark paint color used on the island? I love it!!
do you happen to know how many sqft the house is?
model number and brand of the microwave?
it oil bronzed pulls or black? thanks!
of the house similar to that used here in the kitchen. Do you have any suggestions please? Thank you!
Granite doesn't really have much of an issue with scratching, whether it has a honed or polished finish. You care for both finishes the same way. Clean it only with your granite cleaner and seal the countertops approximately once a year. Black granite is very hard,
obtaining a dark stain on the oak floors like this home it is best to work with your contractor, whether selecting a prefinish product or a stain in place (like this project). There are a lot of steps to achieve this look and best discussed with a professional in your regional area...or you could end up like
rubbed bronze or brushed nickel? My faucet is brushed nickel and the fixtures are oil rubbed bronze. Also, I know the knobs and pulls are amerock, but what specific line are they?
Thanks Jo!
instead of dark wood cabinets for our island we would like to use the same white cabinets and switch out the granite counter top with a dark wood butcher block. Do you think that will provide the same feeling of warmth? Also, we're looking at quartz for the rest of our counter tops instead of granite. Can
using a dark expresso for the island.
Thank you for your help!
work with polished pulls and the ORB lighting? You did a beautiful job with this remodel!
Hi Jillies, No, they don't...that's the beauty of it! These are brushed nickel pulls and knobs mixed with oile rubbed bronze lighting. Hope this helps you! Jo
Have you looked on www.Bellacor.com or www.LightingUniverse.com? Visual Comfort makes one just like this, but I don't see it in the dark finish. You might even find something like this in a big box store like Lowe's or Home Depot. It's elegant in it's simplicity.

Is it too weird to use these bronze faucets when everything else is chrome? I thought they would like great as an accent or "wall

of the house. She wanted that consistency throughout the house. She has an old can that said Sherwin Williams #1122; but I was never able to find that number so we ended up just color matching.
Some neutral Sherwin Williams colors very close to this would be:
Classical White, Roycroft Vellum, Antique
I checked Landmark's site as well, and it doesn't look like this comes in an antique brass finish? I would agree that it does look a bit darker though, like the oil rubbed bronze. -Sarah

With a dark island bar instead of a white one , what changes would have to be made?
cabinets and dark flooring w/a dark island bar. Would you give me so thoughts about the two countertop surfaces and backsplash concepts? Thank you
about the dark island, but decided (after seeing one on here), that I didn't like the dark and dark together. I do like dark island, but with same marble countertop everywhere. Does that make sense? So the way I ended up with deciding white everywhere was that i wanted marble, but wanted a more practical
I agree with BAI. Chrome or polished nickel are timeless choices in Victorian farm houses as well. If the home is antebellum plantation home, the brass would be a more appropriate choice. Let they house be your guide.
