Does redwood last longer and does it need to be treated from rotting?
Sorry I did not see your question sooner. Posts are redwood. All lumber is redwood. Posts are 4" x 4". Top and bottom rails are 2" x 4". Hog
Redwood does last longer as it has natural preservatives. Old growth redwood is better than newer growth.
Redwood, I think is has some oil on it
