Painted Kitchen
Beautiful kitchen! What are the overall dimensions of the room? I'm guessing about 14.5' x 20'? Also, I see that the island is 5' wide...What is the length? Thanks so much!
I'm trying to see if we have room for this layout. I know wall of cabinetry is 9' but how much space between cabinetry and edge of island. Thanks!
Just realized you meant the lower doors on the wall. That is for dog food storage and other utilitarian items.
this island has a very small overhang for the narrow chairs. doesn't take up much room. still has cabinets underneath.

For this reason I can only say that either option you describe could work, depending upon the final effect

Golightly Landscape Architecture
A Georgian Revival in Birmingham, Ala.
A series of outdoor garden rooms — each created based on the site's topography — pull the architecture of this beautiful Georgian home into the landscape. The spaces open and close as you walk through the site, which empties intoa concrete swimming pool draped in lawn and accented by a James Carter-designed
Carter-designed open-air pavillion at one end. These outdoor rooms are terraced with native stone walls, the most dramatic of which is the elliptical boxwood garden with an allee of Winter King Hawthornes connecting it to the pool garden. GLA took meticulous care to retain as many of the mature boxwoods and
this is what would be perfect -- hugely simple but we can make it great -- dog ear this one
